Art Club

The West Catholic Art Club is a group of students who assemble on the first Thursday of each month to plan an activity or service project for the month. Although the Art Club is generally comprised of art students, students need not be enrolled in an art class.
Membership requires a love of the arts.

The Art Club meets every first Thursday of the month at 7:40 AM and 3:05PM, in the Art room. All Art Club members are required to attend before or after school.

Activities:

WC Face Painting
In September 2003, Art club members had a great time pinting faces for one of our home openers at the new Falcon Field on the campus of West Catholic high School









 

Stratford, Ontario
In the fall of 2003, seniors loved the annual three day trip to Stratford. They enjoyed
Taming of the Shrew, The King and I, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame at the
Avon and Festival Theatres as well as shopping, dining, and sightseeing.

Grand Rapids Art Museum Visit
The Art Club visited the GRAM in November 2003.
The students really enjoyed the Spirit of America exhibit.






Painting Northwest Post Office Windows
The Art Club has painted the Northwest Post Office windows for the past 13 years. On December 1 & 2 2003, the students worked after school to create the large display. This year the theme was designed by Kelly Wybenga and the letters by Lindsey Page. We hope that you had time to stop by and enjoy the display.



























 



Christmas Party
In December 2003, members of the Art Club celebrated Christmas by decorating cookies for the WC teaching staff, exchanging homemade gifts, and eating of course.












Valentines
The week before Valentines Day 2004, the Art Club made Valentines
with 68 pre-schoolers. They cut, they glued, they colored,
they glittered, they had fun making new friends.

Fine Arts Week 2004
The Art Club printed their own T-Shirts for fine arts week. Over 200 shirts were worn to school that week by students in Art Club, art, band, choir, and drama.




















Field Trip
In March 2004, the Art Club visited the Toledo Museum of Art . . .












. . . and we toured of The Queen of the Most Holy Rosary cathedral in Ohio.
