The West Catholic Art Club is a group of students who assemble on the first Thursday of each month to plan an activity or service project for the month. Although the Art Club is generally comprised of art students, students need not be enrolled in an art class.
Membership requires a love of the arts.

The Art Club meets every first Thursday of the month at 7:40 AM and 3:05PM, in the Art room. All Art Club members are required to attend before or after school.

Face Painting
In August 2005 members of the Art Club painted faces, many faces at the company picnic
for the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel.

Pumpkin Painting
In October 2005 members of the Art Club used their artistic talents
to paint pumpkins for all of the WC teachers and staff.

Painting Northwest Post Office Windows
The Art Club has painted the Northwest Post Office windows for the past 15 years and this year was no exception. On November 28 & 29, 2005, the students worked after school to create the large display. This year the theme was Christmas trees from around the world. We hope that you had time to stop by and enjoy the display.

Field Trip
In December 2005, members of the Art Club visited the
Fredrick Meijer Gardens to view their "Trees Around the World" exhibit.

Service Project
In January and February 2006, members of the Art Club painted a mural on all four
walls of the Education Center of the Walker, Kent District Library.

Chicago trip
In March 2006 members of the Art Club visited the Art Institute of Chicago.
Their tour focussed on the painting of the European artists . . .

. . and we did a little shopping at the Water Tower Place in downtown Chicago.
