The
West Catholic Art Club is a group of students who assemble on the first Thursday
of each month to plan an activity or service project for the month. Although
the Art Club is generally comprised of art students, students need not be enrolled
in an art class.
Membership requires a love of the arts.
The Art Club meets every first Thursday of the month at 7:40 AM, in the Art room. All Art Club members are required to attend before or after school.

Trip
In March 2008, during WC's
Fine Arts Week, members of the Art Club traveled to Detroit to visit the Detroit
Institute of Art where they enjoyed a docent guided tour Interpeting Art. They
viewed the rest of the museum at their leisure.
On the way home they stopped in on the College for Creative Study where they
were given a tour and they spend some time viewing their student art exhibit.

Club Christmas Party
In December 2007, members
of the Art Club celebrated Christmas
by icing cookies for
all of the teachers and exchanging home-made gifts.

Painting the Post Office Windows
In November 2007, members
of the Art Club spent two afternoons painting a huge holiday mural on the windows
of the North West Post Office.

Pumpkin Painting
In October 2007, members
of the Art Club used their artistic talents
to paint pumpkins for all of the WC teachers and staff.
