Art II - Design Class

During the course of the year, Art II students explore and create work using different aspects of the elements and principles of design. Students become more diverse in their mediums and learn in depth the value of group critiques and formal critique writing.

Basic elements of line, shape, form, value, color, and texture are applied to solving problems in various areas, including graphic design,
three-dimensional design, commercial design, and fine art. Various media are employed such as; tempera, wood, pastels, block printing, acrylic and watercolor painting and computer graphics. Art history, vocabulary and critique methods are integrated into this course. Students are required to work in a sketchbook weekly.
