Courtyard Sculptures

These courtyard sculptures, created either by Art II students or Art IV students, keep our courtyard colorful and creative. Each year Art II completes a miniature sculpture out of cardboard, which then is critiqued and put into full scale construction. The sculptures are usually 6 feet high or 5 feet wide, and are constructed of nails, screws, hinges, and plywood, all of which come out of the Art Room budget. Although each group in Art II completes a sculpture, only some sculptures survive the summer's winds and rain. Currently, we are unsure of some of the artists' names, if you have information on any of these sculpture - please email us.

The Art II class is beginning their sculptures, creating them from cardboard, glue, pins and paint. Eventually these cardboard cutouts will become plywood plants in our courtyards. The class will learn to critique their own artwork as well as others during this class also. Each student will be required to write a 5 paragraph critique, touching on the principles and elements of design.
